What benefits are delivered by cloud-native architecture?
Paul discusses the common problems encountered by those adopting cloud-based core banking systems rather than cloud-native.
Cloud based cores often use old technologies simply moved to the cloud, so they will encounter the same old problems. This will include relational databases being hammered from all angles by monolithic applications. This means that shadow ledgers need to be created to enable the system to meet the demands of modern banking such as real-time card processing and push notifications.
Paul looks at why SaaScada went back to a first principles approach, to reimagine core banking. We completely threw out the traditional approach to ledgers, to give maximum flexibility to deliver both lightning fast transactional throughput and unrivalled data flexibility – without the need for shadow ledgers and all the risk they entail.
